The Office of the Complaints Commissioner is headed by the Complaints Commissioner (the Commissioner) who is a statutory appointment required under the Financial Services Act 2012.

The Commissioner’s role is to review independently complaints about the actions or inactions of the UK’s current financial services regulators, the Financial Conduct Authority, the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Bank of England (but only in respect of its oversight of the banking clearing houses and payment schemes).

The Commissioner is also able to consider complaints about the UK’s previous financial services regulator, the Financial Services Authority, in relation to its actions or inactions occurring after 1st December 2001. Further details about the role of the Commissioner and how he may be able to assist you can be found on the How We Can Help page.
